Why Everyone's Talking About the Carvion Portable Breathalyser
A mouthpiece-free air inlet and a single button give you a breath alcohol reading in seconds — the reason this alcohol tester ends up in a pocket instead of a drawer.
No Mouthpiece, Nothing To Replace
Most breath testers need a plastic tube pushed into the top, and a fresh one for every person. The Carvion does not. Hold it a little way from your lips, aim at the air inlet and blow steadily. Nothing to fit, nothing to throw away, and sharing it takes no preparation.
One Button, Seconds To Read
There is no app to pair and no menu to learn. Hold the button to switch on, press again and the Carvion warms up for fifteen seconds. Blow slowly and evenly for three to five seconds, and the figure appears on the screen in mg/100ml straight afterwards.
A Screen You Read Instantly
White digits on a black screen show the reading from 0 to 200 mg/100ml. Above them, the Carvion Portable Breathalyser lights green below 20, orange above 20 and red above 90, with a buzzer from 20 upwards. The colours are a guide to the number, never a verdict on driving.
Built For A Coat Pocket
At 103mm long, 28mm wide and around 31 grams, the Carvion takes up less room than a set of keys. Its 200mAh lithium battery recharges over USB-C with the cable in the box. Keep it in a pocket or bag rather than a hot car, which can harm the sensor.
How to Use Your Carvion
There is nothing to assemble, no mouthpiece to attach and no app to download. Charge it over USB-C and it is ready. For a meaningful reading, wait at least twenty minutes after your last drink, and avoid blowing smoke or food residue into the inlet. After a very high result, wait two minutes before retesting.

Frequently asked questions
What does a breathalyser actually measure?
It estimates the alcohol in your breath and shows it as a figure in mg/100ml, for personal reference only.
Do I need an app or a subscription?
No. There is no app, no account and no subscription. Everything happens on the device with one button.
Does it need a mouthpiece?
No. You blow towards the air inlet from a short distance, so there are no tubes to fit, clean or replace.
How does it charge?
Over USB-C, with the cable included. Charge it promptly whenever the low-battery alert appears, so the cell is never fully drained.
What range does it read?
From 0 to 200 mg/100ml. The light shows green below 20, orange above 20 and red above 90.
How big is it?
103mm long, 28mm wide and 16mm deep, weighing around 31 grams, so it sits easily in a pocket.
When should I test?
Wait at least twenty minutes after your last drink, then blow slowly and evenly for three to five seconds.
Can I use it to decide whether to drive?
No. Readings are for reference only and are not proof of being under the legal limit. If you have been drinking, do not drive.
